Shiloh Fernandez Joins the Cast of THE EVIL DEAD Remake

Just last week we brought you the news when Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror, Priest) cited “Scheduling issues” forced her to walk away from the lead role of Mia, the twenty-something whom a group of friends takes to a remote cabin for a drug intervention in director Fede Alvarez‘s remake of the Sam Raimi cult classic The Evil Dead.

While the female lead is the focus of the film, Variety reports that Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood) has joined the cast of the remake in the lead male role. No further description of his character was available.

Synopsis:

“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

The Evil Dead is slated to hit theaters on April 12th, 2013.
