See The TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY Finale Trailer and Episode Pics Before it All Ends Tonight

We have been promised answers; we were never promised aliens. Well, other than Jack. And other than the title, Torchwood, since every other episode of Torchwood in every previous iteration has involved more aliens than just Jack.

We’ll find out shortly, since the Torchwood: Miracle Day finale is TONIGHT. WE MUST SEE THIS. And not only to get the answer to the burning “where the heck are the aliens” question (which answer, we understand, may just be “not in this season”). We need to know what this was all about, and we need to know now.

Until then, we have this:

And this brief synopsis:

The season finale of Torchwood: Miracle Day, entitled ‘The Blood Line,’ premieres on STARZ on Friday, September 9 at 10pm ET/PT. In the original hour-long episode, the Torchwood team travels across the world on a final, desperate mission, but the Three Families are unstoppable unless a terrible sacrifice is made. Frances Fisher (Titanic, The Lincoln Lawyer) guest stars as The Mother.

Ooo “the Mother” – that could be alien-ish! She was pretty creepy in last week’s episode, but humans can be creepy too. MUST. FIND. OUT.

Just in case you’ve missed the entire series but are one of those people who like to watch just the finale, here’s a series synopsis for you:

Torchwood: Miracle Day begins with a day when nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging — they get hurt and sick — but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It’s said that in four month’s time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can’t be a natural occurrence – someone’s got to be behind it. It’s a race against time as C.I.A. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy.  The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking “What is Torchwood?,” he’s drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever.

STARZ’ newest original series is a reimagining of the UK sensation, which originally debuted in 2006 on BBC One. The show’s original creator, writer/producer Russell T Davies, serves as executive producer along with BBC Worldwide Productions‘ SVP Julie Gardner, with Davies also serving as show-runner. Torchwood: Miracle Day is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions for Starz, BBC Cymru Wales and BBC Worldwide.

No word yet on whether there will be another Torchwood season, but we’ll definitely keep you posted.

Torchwood: Miracle Day, starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles, and Mekhi Phifer, will premiere its season finale on Friday, September 9 at 10/9c on Starz.
