SDCC 2011: Robert Rodriguez Says SIN CITY 2 Could Begin Shooting This Year


The sequel to Sin City has been eagerly awaited by fans since the film adaptation of the graphic novel debuted in 2005. Now, six years after the heavily stylized film hit theaters and delighted our eyes with its comic-esque visuals, the stars supposedly aligning for the sequel.

MovieWeb reports that Frank Miller has written a script for the sequel, and at the Robert Rodriguez panel at this years Comic-Con, Rodriguez himself announced that Sin City 2 could begin shooting this year, and he wants to film the in 3D.

Rodriguez said,

“If Sin City 2 happens, it’ll happen this year. I’d also love to do that in 3D – an idea that would translate really well to that format.”

Rodriguez had stated in the past that he had hoped to bring Bruce Willis back for Sin City 2.

No release date has been set for Sin City 2.
