Score Excellent LOST Memorabilia and More from CANCER GETS LOST Online Charity Auction

The series finale of Lost aired on May 22, 2011, but for many Losties (like me), there is no “over,” there is only Lost. Two of the bright lights of Lost fandom have decided to do a wonderful thing with the obsession they share with so many; they have put together a non-profit charity webcast, auction and party entitled Cancer Gets LOST, to benefit the National Brain Tumor Society.

Jo Garfein and Jared Wong have devoted much of their lives over the last two years to this three-tiered plan, and have enlisted the help of some notable Losties. Videos of support have been contributed by Damon Lindelof and Jorge Garcia, and each of them along with several other members of the cast and production have autographed Lost memorabilia.

Items included in the online auction, which opens today at 1:08pm ET, range from individual Lost trading cards to a Lost Concert score from “Walkabout” signed by composer Michael Giacchino to a Lost Mega Lotto Jackpot magnet signed by Jorge Garcia to an authentic Lost screen-used short wood table from the survivors’ beach camp.

Here are some of the details excerpted from the Cancer Gets LOST website:

  1. Wednesday, August 15 – Wednesday, August 29: Online charity auction

From autographed television memorabilia (Lost, Once Upon a Time, Person of Interest, Fringe, and more!) to limited edition/rare prints and awesome artwork to signed scripts and actual furniture from the LOST survivors’ beach camp – there is something for everyone! All items are affordably priced; opening bids start as low as $4! With the exception of the heavy furniture and larger art, the cost of shipping is factored in/included in the bidding price of each item. And we will ship anywhere around the world!

The auction will be in “Preview” mode until 8/15, when it officially opens for bidding at 1:08pm ET. The auction will close on 8/29 beginning at 3:16pm ET. Absolutely 100% of every Penny will go directly to the National Brain Tumor Society, so please bid with your hearts, and help us kill the ultimate Monster that is cancer.

  1. Saturday, August 25, noon-4pm PST: Live streaming Webcast:

Tune in on Saturday, August 25 from noon-4pm PST as we host a live webcast with LOST alum (both cast and creative team)! Although the webcast will be streaming live online for everyone around the world to watch, the event itself is closed to the public. However, you are all invited to our Cancer Gets LOST party later that evening from 7pm-11pm PST at Monk Space in Los Angeles!

The webcast will coincide with our charity auction, which will run from August 15-29. 100% of the proceeds raised during the auction, webcast and party will benefit the National Brain Tumor Society.

You don’t need to be a LOST fan to enjoy the broadcast; the guests will be talking about their new films and television shows, and it is very likely that a variety of pop culture topics will be discussed!

CONFIRMED Guests for the Cancer Gets LOST live charity webcast on 8/25:

Andrea Gabriel, LOST: Actress (Nadia), Seasons 1-6
Mark Goldman, LOST: Editor, Seasons 1-6
Javier Grillo-Marxuach, LOST: Supervising Producer & Writer, Seasons 1-2
Elizabeth Sarnoff, LOST: Executive Producer & Writer, Seasons 1-6
More special guests are pending (due to their filming schedules)

  1. Saturday, August: 25, 7pm-11pm PST: Cancer Gets LOST Party in Los Angeles:

We will be hosting the event at Monk Space (4414 West 2nd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90004) on the evening of August 25th, 2012 from 7pm to 11pm. Join us for LOST trivia, giveaways, and more! Items from the charity auction (taking place that week) will be on display and special guests will be invited, but we cannot guarantee appearances ahead of time.

Admission at the door will be a donation of any amount $5 or more to the National Brain Tumor Society, which can be made either in cash at the door or online via limited laptop Stations at the party. We will have separate wristbands for guests over and under 21 – so please remember to bring your ID! No advance tickets are necessary, but we do ask that you please RSVP via our Facebook event page. If you are not on Facebook, simply RSVP by emailing party[at]cancergetslost[dot]org!

You may want to bring some extra cash, as we have many LOST and other TV related goodies to give away via $1 Raffle tickets (all of which also benefits the NBTS), and there will be a food truck outside of the venue (Philly Please!).
