Rumor Has It! Adrien Brody To Play Ant-Man? Edgar Wright Says Not True

Adrien Brody (Predators) will reportedly take the role of Ant-Man in Edgar Wright’s (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World) upcoming big-screen adaptation of the Marvel Comics character, after he makes an appearance in the Joss Whedon (Serenity, Dollhouse) directed team-up, The Avengers.

John Campea of AMC’s Script to Screen jumped on twitter to spill the story.

Campea said,

Take this for what its worth, but I was just told Adrien Brody is most likely going to be “Ant Man” for Edgar Wright.

El Mayimbe from LatinoReview backed up Campea’s claim by tweeting,

I personally checked w/my pals at Paradigm (Adrien Brody’s agency) & at press time, YES they were pursing Ant Man but got nothing yet.

Campea followed up shortly after by stating,

A pretty good source told me Adrien Brody could be Ant Man. Well, Edgar Wright just told me it wasn’t true. Think I’ll take Edgar’s Word.

Of course if Brody is in-fact in the running or hired for the role at this time, Wright and (especially) Marvel wouldn’t want this slipped out prior to a possible reveal at Comic-Con, so who knows? It could be true, or not… I would just be disappointed that Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly) didn’t score the role as Hank Pym/Ant-Man.
