Rise of the Guardians Featurettes Reveal the Backstories of the Legendary

As we’ve been telling you, there is so much to look forward to from Rise of the Guardians. First, it’s from beloved movie maker Guillermo del Toro. Based on books by the beloved William Joyce. From Dreamworks Animation. Featuring the voices of Hugh Jackman, Chris Pine, Jude Law, and Alec Baldwin with quite the Russian accent.

Alec Baldwin sans Russian accent narrates these featurettes that give an outline of the backstories – the “real” stories – of the Guardians we know as Santa Claus (“North”), the Easter Bunny (“Bunnymund”), and the Tooth Fairy (“Tooth”). They. Are. Mighty. We also have a “Making Of” featurette about the animation of the magical sand, and a trailer. Have fun!

Synopsis:

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is an epic adventure that tells the story of a group of heroes – each with extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.

The story is adapted from William Joyce’s Guardians of Childhood book series, inspired by his own children. He created a backstory for his own kids of how the Man in the Moon, Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and Sandman knew each other. Rise of the Guardians stars Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher, Jude Law, and Chris Pine.

Rise of the Guardians is slated to hit theaters on November 21st, 2012.
