POWERS Television Series Leaves FX For New Home Online

We’ve been following the realization of the television adaptation of the Powers comic by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. Last year a pilot has already been shot for FX. Today we’re reporting that Sony Pictures Television has not only moved the series but will be scrapping the previous cast and pilot.

PlayStation, joining the likes of Netflix (Hemlock Grove), Amazon (The After) and Xbox (Halo, in development), is taking on Powers as its first attempt at playing host to a television series, and will most likely get a 10 episode order, this according to THR.

After cleaning house, Charlie Huston is on board to write. Bendis and Oeming will  be producing, and Michael Dinner (producer on Justified) remains as executive producer and director.

Powers follows detective Christian Walker who protects humans from people with supernatural abilities. So it’s the best of superheroes and police procedural combined. Just the kind of show we’d love.

We’ll continue to keep you posted on the latest for Powers.
