PARADISE LOST Casts Casey Affleck as an Archangel and Entices Camilla Belle To Become Eden’s Eve

Back in August, we reported that Djimon Hounsou (The Tempest, Blood Diamond) had been cast as Abdiel, the angel of death in Legendary Pictures’ adaptation of John Milton’s epic 17th-century poem, Paradise Lost. Who else will join the heavenly, action-filled battle between the archangels Michael (Benjamin Walker) and Lucifer (Bradley Cooper) of this Alex Proyas-helmed film?

Casting continues with the news from Variety that Casey Affleck (Tower Heist, The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford) has been cast as the archangel Gabriel and Camilla Belle (10,000 B.C., Push) has been offered the role of Eve.

The role of Adam has not been cast yet but word is that Legendary is looking at Diego Boneta (Rock of Ages, 90210), pictured below.

Synopsis:

Lucifer and Michael, God’s greatest archangels, share the bond of extraordinary friendship until God produces his greatest creation: Man. Unable to remain subservient to God if it means bowing down to humanity, Lucifer begins his dark descent and is cast out – only to plot his revenge.

Paradise Lost begins production at the turn of the year in Sydney is slated to hit theaters in 2013.
