Steve Niles’ Remains: New Pics and the Prequel for Chiller’s Original Movie

As we told you back in October, Steve Niles’ Remains will be Chiller‘s first original movie, and now it’s nearly here. It premieres this Friday, December 16 at 10/9c, and we have some pics, a summary, and a prequel to share with you. We’ll have a review of this show, and excerpts from a Q&A session with Steve Niles, later in the week.

Although it’s destined to be compared with AMC‘s The Walking Dead, the zombies in Remains are very different, as you will quickly see if you click on to the 11-minute prequel that Chiller has very kindly posted on its website. Seriously, check it out, but NOT while you’re eating. It is totally gross, but it also has at least one laugh-out-loud moment. If this is a taste – sorry – of what’s to come in the movie, this production is going to be VERY entertaining.

For your convenience, you’ll find the link to the prequel after the gallery of photos and the official summary below. And yes, that last pic IS who you think it is – LANCE REDDICK! Enjoy!

Based on the IDW Publishing graphic novel written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and illustrated by Kieron DwyerRemains is set in a chilling post-apocalyptic Reno, Nevada, and follows the survivors of a bizarre accident that reduced most of the world’s population to zombies. The group takes refuge in a vacant casino and fights a losing battle against the undead, who grow steadily stronger, smarter and more aggressive by the minute. The movie stars Grant Bowler (True BloodUgly Betty), Lance Reddick (FringeLostThe Wire), Miko Hughes (Pet Sematary) and Tawny Cypress (Rescue MeHeroes). Remains is written by John Doolan and directed by Colin TheysAndrew Gernhard and Zach O’Brien will serve as producers for Synthetic Cinema International.
