Neveldine And Taylor To Crank Ghost Rider Sequel With Nicolas Cage

This past April we brought you a report about the possibility that a Ghost Rider sequel could be moving forward without original star, Nicolas Cage. Now, it seems the actor could be heading back and he will be greeted by new directors for the sequel.

THR is reporting that that not only is Nicolas Cage (Kick-Ass) in talks to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze but, Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank, Crank: High Voltage) are in early talks to direct Ghost Rider 2 (Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengance). We have told you before that David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, FlashForward) wrote the original script but THR reports that Neveldine and Taylor could do a rewrite on the script prior to filming.

Because the rights to the character could revert back to the now Disney-controlled Marvel if Columbia Pictures can’t get a sequel in production, they are trying to get principal photography underway by this fall.
