NBC Orders J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke Series REVOLUTION

And the sci-fi heavens rejoiced and were glad. Yes, NBC, bless ’em, has given a series order to the J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Super 8, LOST) – produced and and Eric Kripke (Supernatural) – written sci-fi project Revolution.

Deadline first broke the happy news about the show that has been described as a “high-octane action drama” about a group of survivors trying to survive and reunite with their loved ones after all technology, from cars to computers to light bulbs, mysteriously and permanently stops working. Billy Burke, David Lyons, Giancarlo Esposito, Tracy Spiradakos, Graham Rogers, Anna Lise Phillips, Tim Guinee, Andrea Roth, JD Pardo and Zak Orth star in the drama from Warner Bros. Television and Bad RobotJon Favreau (Iron Man) directed the pilot.

We’ll hopefully be hearing more next week, since NBC‘s upfront presentation of its upcoming schedule to advertisers is taking place on Monday the 14th. We’ll definitely be watching this one.
