On Friday we brought you the news that director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) was in talks to helm X-Men: First Class for 20th Century Fox but the negotiations had been touch and go, and sources close to the director said he’s passing. Well, what a difference a weekend makes.

Now, it seems as though Vaughn may be warming up that directors chair after all. Deadline is reporting that Vaughn has come back into the picture and is finalizing a deal to direct X-Men: First Class. The site reports that Vaughn came back to the table yesterday and is working out a deal with the 20th Century Fox and his reps.
