Jude Law Was Humbled To Complete Ledger’s Role In Parnassus

Jude Law has revealed that he was humbled to complete Heath Ledger’s role in his final film The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus. Law, 36, stepped in alongside Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell when Ledger died from an accidental overdose of prescription medication in January 2008, aged 28.

The British actor said that it was a “double tug” when he was asked to join the cast.

“I liked Heath very much as a man and admired him as an actor. To help finish his final piece of work was a tribute I felt compelled to make,” he told People.

“To help Terry [Gilliam] finish his film was an honor paid to a man I adore. Though we were all there in remembrance, Heath’s heart pushed us with great lightness to the finish.”

The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, which was released in the UK in October, and opened in select US theaters on Christmas Day.
