Joss Whedon Announces AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON and What That Does and Doesn’t Mean

Marvel‘s presentation for the filled-to-capacity Hall H Comic-Con crowd over the weekend was everything we could have wished for and more. We got new footage from Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: Winter Soldier, even first footage from Guardians of the Galaxy. We the crowd were going wild, when who should appear but Joss Whedon, writer/director of last summer’s The Avengers and the sequel scheduled for the summer of 2015.

At least I’m pretty sure it was Joss Whedon. The crowd jumped to its collective feet when the man appeared, raising cell phone cameras high in salute, making it nearly impossible to see him unless you were sitting in the first few rows. Ah well.

We got no elucidation from Mr. Whedon about the next Avengers movie during the Saturday night Marvel panel; we got only the teaser trailer that introduces the official name, Avengers: Age of Ultron. But since that teaser trailer hasn’t yet been released to the general public, how about a nice summary of the trailer from the man himself, along with a list of what to expect and not expect from the movie:

Featurette: Avengers: Age of Ultron – Joss Whedon

WOO HOOOO!

Avengers: Age of Ultron drops in to theaters in the summer of 2015.
