Jeff Bridges To Get Spooky In The Big-Screen Adaptation Of The Last Apprentice


Jeff Bridges (TRON: Legacy) has reportedly signed on to Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ big-screen adaptation of Joseph Delaney’s young adult series The Last Apprentice (aka The Wardstone Chronicles in the UK).

JustJared reports that the film will be titled The Seventh Son. The book series, set in the 1700s is about a seventh son of a seventh son, Thomas J. Ward, who can see and sense creatures of the dark and other things that others cannot. He is apprenticed to train as a “Spook” so he may learn how to deal with the dark. Bridges’ will reportedly play “The Spook”, who will help Thomas train and hone his newfound skills.

Offers are out to Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four) and Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men: First Class) for the roles of Thomas and a suspected Witch, respectively.

The Seventh Son directed by Sergey Bodrov is slated to hit theaters in 2012 and stars Jeff Bridges.
