Jane Levy Takes the Lead In THE EVIL DEAD Remake; Plus the First Set Pic


Just a couple of weeks ago we brought you the news about Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror, Priest) citing “Scheduling issues” and walking away from the lead role of Mia, the twenty-something whom a group of friends takes to a remote cabin for a drug intervention in director Fede Alvarez‘s remake of the Sam Raimi cult classic The Evil Dead.

Now, Deadline reports that actress Jane Levy (Suburgatory, Fun Size) has scored the newly opened role of Mia, replacing Collins as the remake’s equivalent of Bruce Campbell‘s Ash.

Synopsis:

“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

The Evil Dead is slated to hit theaters on April 12th, 2013.
