Last month we brought you the news about Zoë Kravitz (X-Men: First Class) and Sophie Okonedo (Doctor Who) joining the cast of director M. Night Shyamalan‘s forthcoming sci-fi film, After Earth starring Will Smith (Men In Black III) and his son, Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid).

Now, THR reports that Isabelle Fuhrman (The Hunger Games, The Healer) is now in negotiations to join the cast as Rayna, a friend of Jaden Smith‘s character in the film.

The story follows a father and son who crash-land on Earth one thousand years after mankind has abandoned the planet. The crash leaves the elder Smith badly injured, and it’s up to the boy to find help in what is now a strange and dangerous place.

After Earth is slated to hit theaters in 2013.
