Is Ales Kot Already Done with SUICIDE SQUAD?

Taking the reigns at issue 20, Ales Kot came onto DC ComicsSuicide Squad with quite a bit of fanfare. Best known for writing Wild Children and Change for Image Comics, and the online only Legends of the Dark Knight, Kot‘s work on Suicide Squad was developing a reputation for being some of the most adventurous and interesting writing in DC‘s current monthly lineup.

Suicide Squad cover 24It appears, however, that the honeymoon between Kot and DC may be over. Bleedingcool.com is reporting that DC‘s current release schedule shows no Suicide Squad release anticipated for September (despite it being “Villain’s Month” at DC). Matt Kindt, current writer for Justice League of America, appears to be taking over writing duties for at least the month of October.

Though the 26-year-old Kot has not addressed the rumors directly, he added to speculation on Twitter, saying that an announcement regarding his status on Suicide Squad was coming soon.
