IRON SKY Gets Partial Funding From Eurimages

Iron Sky is a feature-length science fiction comedy, from the creators of Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning (2005) and the producers of Jade Warrior (2006). The script is written by award-winning science fiction writer Johanna Sinisalo (“Not Before Sundown”), and is based on an original idea by Jarmo Puskala.

European subsidy org Eurimages has agreed to partially bankroll “Iron Sky,” Timo Vuorensola’s dark sci-fi romp about space-faring Nazis set on conquering Earth. The film, produced by the Finnish – Blind Spot Pictures and Oliver Damian’s Berlin-based 27 Films Prod. and starring Udo Kier, Goetz Otto and Julia Dietze, received E600,000 ($860,930) toward its estimated $7 million budget.

The U.K.’s Stealth Media Group is handling world sales for “Iron Sky.” The film has already secured distribution deals in Finland (Disney), U.K. (Revolver), Norway (Euforia) and Poland (Kino Swiat).

The Story:

Towards the end of World War II the staff of SS officer Hans Kammler made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity.

From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right.

Now it’s 2018, the Nazi invasion is on its way and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom.

Personally, I can’t wait for this film to hit the U.S. – there’s just something about it and all the people behind it that make it a must see for me. Check out the teaser trailer and hit up the links to the movie site and the production company’s blog below.
