HORNS: Piranha Director Signs On For A Hell Of A Hangover

Joe Hill’s horror novel, Horns, is being adapted for the big screen by Mandalay Pictures. Last March, we told you that Transformers star Shia Labeouf would be taking on the starring role as Ig Perrish, a 26-year-old man who wakes up after a night of hard drinking and discovers there are horns growing out of his head. As the horns keep growing, he discovers they may have a mysterious connection to the unsolved murder of his girlfriend.

THR reports that Horns will be helmed by Piranha and The Hills Have Eyes director Alexandre Aja. Aja will be working with a script adapted by Keith Bunin (In Treatment). From Mandalay, Cathy Schulman and Peter Guber will be producing along with executive producer and writer of the source material (and son of Stephen King), Joe Hill.

The project is shooting for in the late spring or early summer of 2012. Mandalay is also working on adapting another Hill property, a short story called Twittering from the Circus of the Dead.
