At the end of August, we brought you news straight from G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s mouth (well, his Twitter feed anyway) confirming the casting of action icon Bruce Willis in this action-packed sequel directed by Jon M. Chu. Johnson has been tweeting a lot from the set and revealed the addition of a new cast member to Paramount’s G.I. Joe sequel.

Via Twitter, Johnson announced that DeRay Davis (21 Jumpstreet, Jumping the Broom) has been added to the cast with this tweet:

 

After that tweet, Johnson started the ass-whooping with this pic of himself and Davis arm-wrestling. The role Davis has been cast for has not been made known as of yet.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation stars Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Walton Goggins, Ray Stevenson, Byung-hun Lee, Ray Park, Adrianne Palacki, RZA, D.J. Cotrona, Elodie Young, and Joe Mazzello. The film begins shooting this month in New Orleans.

G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation is slated to hit theaters on June 29, 2012.
