We’ve been telling you about the Steven Spielberg-produced Stephen King novel-to-series Under the Dome since August 2011, and the flurry of casting that took place recently, once the June premiere date was set. Over the weekend at WonderCon a first look featurette premiered, and YES we can now be officially looking forward to adding this to the summer viewing calendar.

Cool, right? And here’s a nice tidbit for all you readers of the book: according to BleedingCool, showrunner Bryan K. Vaughan (Lost) said during the WonderCon panel that if they’re given more than one season, he’ll be taking the show in a different direction than the ending of the book. Of course here we have the potential downside. We’re not getting an end to the story any time soon. While this is fine in regular dramas, it is a bit of a frustration with mystery mythologies. I have apparently been spoiled by American Horror Story. Ah well. Here’s hoping that the series is entertaining with every single episode and that it lives long into the future.
