First Look at the House and Costumes for Munsters Reboot MOCKINGBIRD LANE

When we first learned that Eddie Izzard would be playing Grandpa in NBC‘s pilot Mockingbird Lane, we were encouraged. The word on this Munsters reboot is that it will not be the fun but silly half hour show that was the original, but rather it’s to be an hour-long drama, written by eye-candy-ful Pushing DaisiesBryan Fuller.

So when we understood that Eddie Izzard‘s Grandpa was meant to be suave and debonair, we started to imagine how very cool that could be. Well imagine no more, as we can now see the concept art for Izzard’s Grandpa’s attire as well as an idea of what the yet-to-be-cast Lily may be wearing.

But wait, there’s more! Concept art for the Munsters’ house, located on, obviously, Mockingbird Lane, has also been unveiled, and in this case, it does look like the original. As Bryan Fuller told EW, he wants the house to have the same creepy feel. See for yourself:

As for the costumes, he said that they are heavily influenced by Alexander McQueen’s use of animal textures:

For instance, with Lily, all of her wardrobe comes from nature. The first time we see her this nest of spiders weaves her dress on her body as she’s standing there. We’ll see ravens come in and assemble her blouse out of their feathers. We won’t see animal skins because the animals are donating as opposed to dying for it. She has domain over nature and nature has a fantastic esthetic.

The news about this pilot just keeps getting better and better. We can’t wait to see what’s next. We’ll keep you posted.
