The debut issue of Image Comics’ major crossover event Image United has sold out at the distribution level. The first issue of the six-part miniseries, written by Robert Kirkman (Invincible, Walking Dead, Ultimate X-Men and Marvel Zombies) sold out immediately after its debut this week despite what Image called a “significant overprint”, and will receive a second printing.

Image United sees company founders Erik Larsen, Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri and Jim Valentino reuniting to illustrate the comic. The series sees heroes from Image titles including Youngblood, Spawn, Savage Dragon, Witchblade and The Darkness uniting to battle the original Spawn.

Image United #1 second printing will be released on December 23.
