FilmDistrict Locks Down Besson’s LOCKOUT With Maggie Grace and Guy Pearce

Back in August, we told you that Maggie Grace (Faster) and Guy Pearce (Animal Kingdom) had been cast in director Luc Besson‘s (Taken) Sci-Fi/Drama entitled, Lockout. The script for the film was written by Besson and fellow directors James Mather (Prey Alone) and Stephen St. Leger (Prey Alone).

Now, Variety reports that FilmDistrict has picked up U.S. distribution rights to the EuropaCorp movie. Lockout tells the story of a falsely convicted ex-government agent (Guy Pearce) whose only chance of freedom is to accept a dangerous mission to rescue the president’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from rioting prisoners at an outer space maximum security prison.

Lockout is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
