Fenway Park Gets A Ghostly Visit from R.I.P.D.

On Monday, we told you that Glee’s Mike O’Malley, Victoria’s Secret model Marisa Miller, and veteran Asian-American actor James Hong (Blade Runner, Big Trouble in Little China) have been added to the cast of R.I.P.D. The most interesting bit of intel is that Miller is playing the human form of Jeff Bridges’ character and Hong is Ryan Reynolds’ character’s earthly avatar.

Production is underway in Boston and this past weekend, Miller and Hong were spotted in costume at Fenway Park. Here’s the short vid via Collider that an observant fan took and their eye-witness account:

“I was at Fenway Park this weekend watching the Red Sox pummel the A’s as hurricane Irene was pummeling Boston when I realized I was right in the middle of R.I.P.D. shooting at the ball park. Marisa Miller and James Hong were doing a scene when she leads him though the isle I was sitting in.”

The vid doesn’t show too much, but we can get a feel for the unusual interplay that may take place between Reynolds’ and Bridges’ characters with this.

R.I.P.D. also stars Kevin Bacon (Crazy, Stupid, Love) is the villain and Stephanie Szostak (Gimme Shelter) as the female lead. Robert Schwentke (Red) will direct the project with a script by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi.

Synopsis:

The story of R.I.P.D. follows a cop, Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds), killed in the line of duty, who is recruited by a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department, a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world. He then tries to find the man who murdered him.

R.I.P.D. is slated to hit theaters on June 28th, 2013.
