Details On Charlize Theron’s Character In Mad Max: Fury Road

Australian swimmer Annabelle Williams, who won the bronze medal at the 2008 Paralympics and 2006 Commonwealth Games, has revealed that she will be Charlize Theron‘s stunt double in George Miller‘s hotly anticipated film, Mad Max: Fury Road.

In a recent Australian ABC interview, Williams, who is missing part of her left arm, revealed that she was specifically chosen as Theron’s stunt double because she and Theron’s character share a similar physical trait.

Williams, who noted that she has been training for Mad Max: Fury Road for the past six months said,

“In December last year, the producers of the yet-to-be-completed film were looking for an athletic, blonde woman with half an arm to be the stunt double for one of Hollywood’s most glamorous women. It was a perfect match for Williams, whose left arm ends just below the elbow. In the film, Theron’s character will have part of one arm missing. Williams will fill in for the Academy Award-winner during a fight scene.”

She added:

“They are going to film me from a very long distance for the fighting so that they don’t have to CGI out her arm. I will be her, but just not [in] the face.”

The film stars Nicholas Hoult, Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Zoe Kravitz, Teresa Palmer, Adelaide Clemens and Riley Keough

Mad Max: Fury Road is slated to hit theaters in 2011.
