DC’s SUPERGIRL Reaches 50 Issue Milestone


DC Comics’ Supergirl will reach the milestone of 50 issues this week when the latest edition arrives in stores. The issue is written by Sterling Gates, Jake Black and actress Helen Slater, who portrayed the superheroine in the 1984 film adaptation. Jamal Igle, Jon Sibal and Fernando Dagnino provided the artwork .

DC’s solicitation reads,

“Sterling Gates and Jamal Igle reunite to tell an epic, oversized battle royale between the Girl of Steel and a mysterious, diabolical new foe. Still reeling from last issue’s harrowing events, Supergirl is put to the test when she uncovers a terrible secret about her friend and confidant Lana Lang”

The book features a cover art by Turner, as well as a variant from Joshua Middleton and Slater will co-write a special feature billed as “a day in the life of the Girl of Steel” as part of the celebratory issue.

Supergirl #50 arrived in stores yesterday.
