David S. Goyer To Write Sci-Fi Book Trilogy

Just a few days ago, we told you about David S. Goyer bailing on FlashForward to write the sequel to The Dark Knight with Christopher Nolan’s brother Jonathan ‘Jonah’ Nolan. It now seems that television and movies aren’t quite enough for Goyer and he, and fellow author/television writer Michael Cassutt (Farscape, Stargate SG-1) have scored a publishing deal with Penguin’s ‘Ace Books’ to pen a Sci-Fi trilogy.

The first book in the trilogy, “Heaven’s Shadow”, is set to debut in July 2011 and will be followed by “Heaven’s War” and “Heaven’s Fall”.

The “Heaven” trilogy revolves around an object hurtling toward Earth that threatens to destroy all of mankind. When international panic ensues, two rival teams of astronauts head into space to intercept what appears to be a breakaway meteor. When they land on the object, they come face-to-face with alien forces.

Literary agency, Writers House – represents both authors, and is retaining the film rights for the “Heaven” trilogy. Writers House has negotiated a number of film deals for their authors, including Stephenie Meyer (“Twilight”), Michael Lewis (“The Blind Side”) and Neil Gaiman (“Coraline”).
