Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof has signed a seven-figure deal to write a secret sci-fi project for Walt Disney Pictures, which is currently known only as 1952. While Lindelof has co-written and produced many projects, including the aforementioned Lost, with Carlton Cuse, director J.J. Abrams‘ 2009 reboot of Star Trek, and director Jon Favreau‘s forthcoming sci-fi western, Cowboys & Aliens, this will be Lindelof’s first solo project, as both writer and producer.
Deadline report that Lindelof is currently writing the script for the as yet Untitled Star Trek Sequel with Orci and Kurtzman, and will likely start work on 1952 when that is complete. The project is also said to not only become just a movie, but it being conceived as a multiple platform property.
No production or release dates have been set for 1952.
