CONAN: Jason Momoa’s Upcoming Film Undergoes a Name Change

We haven’t heard much on the Conan front as of late but, here’s something. Lionsgate must be thinking that people would jump aboard Team CoCo and somehow mix up their movie and Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show. So, they decided to change the name of the film from just “Conan” to the more classic, Conan the Barbarian.

The forthcoming reboot is based on the Robert E. Howard books and written by Thomas Dean Donnelly, Joshua Oppenheimer, Sean Hood and Andrew Lobel. The film was directed by Marcus Nispel, and stars Jason Momoa, Rose McGowan, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Bob Sapp, Leo Howard, Ron Perlman and Said Taghmaoui.

Conan the Barbarian is slated to hit theaters on August 19th, 2011.
