CBS Orders Pilot Script for CHARMED Reboot

Do not freak out. Whether you think Charmed is one of the best shows ever and deserves a reboot, or you hated the show and can’t abide the idea of a reboot, or you loved the show and can’t abide the idea of a reboot, or my personal favorite, hey, how about if we wait and see how it actually turns out before we judge?, it’s all premature.

Vulture first broke the news that CBS TV Studios, who owns the rights to all of the Aaron Spelling-produced library of shows, has ordered a script for the pilot of a “reimagined” Charmed, to be written by Party of Five co-creator Chris Keyser and partner Sydney Sidner. Just a script. Not a casting call or camera in sight.

The original, as you probably know, started out as three witch sisters who used their powers for good. It starred Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty, replaced by Rose McGowan at the end of Season 3, and ran 8 seasons on The WB.

Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan tweeted their less-than-impressed opinions about it, but I still prefer the hey, how about if we wait and see how it actually turns out before we judge? view of the project.

We’ll keep you posted.
