Very little is known about the movie Transcendence so far but the production team and actors are starting to take their places. The first and most notable name attached to the film is actor Johnny Depp who will be playing the lead. He’s reunited with his co-star from The Tourist, Paul Bettany. These men have most recently been joined by actress Rececca Hall (Iron Man 3).

The plot for the film is not being released (even a little), but a tiny whisper from Digital Spy makes me think it’s a perfect fit for us.

Although plot details have so far been kept under wraps, it is thought that Transcendence will involve Depp’s character uploading his mind onto a supercomputer with the potential to think for itself.

Sounds awesome. Those actors and that whisper are a complete winner for me, but I look forward to hearing an official plot.

This will be Oscar winning cinematographer, Wally Pfister‘s (Inception) directorial debut. Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas will be executive producers. Filming is to begin this summer.
