Bryan Singer Steps In as Director of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Quite the news day today in the galaxy of Our Kind of Movies. And here’s the latest: Matthew Vaughn, who stepped out of the director’s chair of X-Men: Days of Future Past last week, has been replaced by the director of the franchise’s first two movies, Bryan Singer. Kinda seems appropriate, given the title. Singer also wrote the treatment for the upcoming movie, so clearly, we have reason to rejoice.

Deadline reported the breaking news as the deal was closing between Singer and 20th Century Fox. Singer had also already been affiliated with the film as a producer, the role that Vaughn will reportedly be taking on.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past, starring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence, is slated to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014.
