Synopsis:

Once Upon a Time is one of the most original and exciting shows on television, combining fairy tale magic with real world drama and appealing to audiences of all ages around the world.

In this official companion to the hit show you can go behind the magic, discovering everything that goes into the making of the enchanting series. The show’s stars, Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White/ Mary Margaret Blanchard), Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan), Lana Parrilla (the Evil Queen/ Regina Mills), Robert Carlyle (Rumplestiltskin/ M. Gold), Josh Dallas (Prince Charming/ David Nolan), Jared Gilmore (Henry Mills), Emilie de Ravin (Belle), Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook), and Meghan Ory (Red Riding Hood/ Ruby), talk about portraying characters who are both classic and new. Plus, the show’s producers, writers and behind-the-scenes wizards share their secrets about creating the magical episodes you see on screen, including production art and sketches. Magic is coming!

Once Upon a Time: Behind the Magic is a no-exceptions must-have for fans of the hit series on ABC. In fact, your fan card may need to be revoked if you don’t find a way to own this book. Just sayin. It goes into huge depth for seasons one and two and is a beautiful, sturdy, glossy book that would dress up any coffee table from Storybrooke to Neverland.

Not only does this book feature all the great interviews with the cast (like Jared Gilmore’s difficulty with playing dead) and production team listed in the synopsis above, but it features an in-depth look at each episode, pointing out things you may have not noticed.

It also takes a closer look at the costumes and sets that are really what I think make this show outstanding. From the many facets of the Evil Queen’s (Lana Parrilla) personality in her costumes to the vast expanse of detail in Wonderland, this book packs it all in.

Once Upon a Time: Behind the Magic would also be a great thing to show someone who was curious as to what all the fuss is about. They will easily be hooked after getting a glimpse.

I give Once Upon a Time: Behind the Magic Five Out of Five Stars.
