Bad Robot and Paramount to Hunt for the GOD PARTICLE

J.J. Abrams‘ production company, Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures are teaming up to produce a low budget sci-fi thriller penned by Oren Uziel. The project will reportedly cost around $5 Million, and will likely be released under Paramount’s Insurge Pictures, the studio’s newly founded micro-budget film division.

Uziel’s script called God Particle is said to revolve around physics experiment with a large hadron accelerator, which causes the Earth to vanish. The terrified crew of an orbiting American space station is left floating in the middle of empty space, when a European spacecraft appears on their radar, and the Americans must determine whether it’s their salvation, or a harbinger of doom.

Vulture reports that Abrams directing the project is unlikely. No production or release dates have been announced for God Particle.
