Alice Eve Could Play Emma Frost In X-Men: First Class

Back in April, Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League) was reportedly the frontrunner to play the female lead, Peggy Carter, in Marvel’s The First Avenger: Captain America. Shortly after that, Marvel Studios confirmed that Hayley Atwell (The Duchess) had been cast in that role instead.

Now, as something of a Marvel-based consolation prize, Deadline reports that Alice Eve is in negotiations to portray the role of Emma Frost in the Bryan Singer (X-Men) produced, Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) directed, X-Men: First Class. If Eve signs scores the role, she would join a cast that also includes Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds), Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers, The War Boys), James McAvoy (Wanted).

Amber Heard (Zombieland, Drive Angry 3D) and Rosamund Pike (Surrogates) are reportedly still in talks to play the young Raven Darkholme/Mystique and Charles Xavier’s assistant Moira MacTaggert respectively.

X-Men: First Class is slated to hit theaters on June 3rd, 2011.
