A Surprising Directorial Choice for JURASSIC PARK 4

Jurassic-Park-logo-x-wide

So Wednesday we got some surprising directorial news for Jurassic Park 4. Surprising because some us might have kinda been holding our breath in hopes that Steven Spielberg would sign on as director. Alas, it will not be Steven Spielberg, but instead it will be directed by Colin Trevorrow who directed the Sundance romantic comedy, Safety Not Guaranteed.

This is quite the leap from the tiny Sundance film to the Tyrannosaurus Rex-sized mega movie. In fact, I think I heard the internet collectively gasp at the choice. Why, you ask, is this the perfect man for the job? According to Deadline, he knew enough Jurassic Park trivia and passed their tests to see if he would maintain the franchise.

Executive producers for Jurassic Park 4 are Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, and Steven Spielberg is serving as executive producer.

What do you think about this choice for director?

Jurassic Park 4 is slated to hit theaters and 3D on June 13, 2014.
