Even Zombies Can Be Slackers In DEADHEADS

How could a zombie be lame? Enter the zombie slackers of a horror comedy called Deadheads from director and writer team of brothers Brett and Drew T. Pierce. This looks to be a refreshing angle to the dark and desperate world of a zombie apocalypse!

According to Variety, Freestyle Digital Media has bought the rights to Deadheads and have scheduled it for a first quarter of 2012 release. The film “follows two zombie slackers who find themselves surprisingly reborn from the dead. Discovering an engagement ring in his pocket, one enlists his newfound zombie pal to embark on a quest in search of his lost love.”

The film won several accolades at the Traverse City and Newport Beach film festivals. Freestyle Digital Media CEO Susan Jackson hopes that Deadheads will be the next “cult classic in the comedy horror market.” Deadheads stars Michael McKiddy (Paranormal, Burbank) and Ross Kidder (Sam Hell).

Deadheads is slated to hit theaters in the first quarter of 2012.
