Jim Butcher Announces the Completion of COLD DAYS: New Dresden Novel Release Imminent

Over on his twitter account, author Jim Butcher announced that he has completed Cold Days, the 14th novel in his popular  Dresden Files series. He’s also, apparently a homemade fruit rollups connoisseur.

A release date for Cold Days has not yet been announced, but it shouldn’t be too long now. For longtime fans, things are really heating up in spite of Harry’s chilly position; the last novel, Ghost Story, ended with Dresden in the care of not one, but two, dangerously powerful entities who would use him for their own devices. One can only guess where the road will lead our hero next.

The Dresden Files follows the story of Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden: Chicago’s first (and only) practicing wizard and private investigator. As a consultant Chicago P.D.’s Special Investigations Unit Dresden works to protect the citizens of Chicago from vampires, werewolves, ghouls, dark sorcerers, demons and wicked fairies.

Check back with us soon for a release date for Cold Days.

FYI (and do NOT take this as gospel, just a very, very, VERY preliminary estimate), it’s been running more or less three months from completion of draft to final publication. Some books have taken less time, some more, and three months would be right next to the oh-so-tasty-coincidence Halloween (Harry’s birthday!), but don’t count on anything specific yet. Just the GENERAL vicinity of the World Series and PROBABLY before Thanksgiving. Either way, we’ll have something definite to be thankful for!
