Vampire Craze Aside, 2010 Scream Awards Honored INCEPTION, BACK TO THE FUTURE, AVATAR

Geeky and gory fans gathered at the TVs and in LA for Spike’s 2010 Scream Awards that aired on this past Tuesday night. The Scream Awards honor the fan picks of the year’s best in sci-fi, comics, and horror. 2010 still proves to be dominated by vampires – Twilight: Eclipse and True Blood swept up eight awards between the two, but it’s refreshing to know that people honored the smartest film of the year, Christopher Nolan’s Inception with the Ultimate Scream and Best Sci-Fi Movie awards. James Cameron’s Avatar picked up Best Director, F/X, and 3D Movie.

This year, Scream honored Comic-Con Icon recipient Ray Bradbury and Sigourney Weaver for her career roles as a Heroine. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Back to the Future with a special appearance by Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox. The award show also gave a final farewell to Lost. Here are highlights from the ceremony:
