I learned to be more open as the years pass, watching things like, Dr Who….I remember the first season….and the guy with the bushy head of hair we thought was so great…and how hokey the stories were, but then along came David Tennant, and I LOVED him, with his fast talking, and quick wit, (of course the writers had a lot to do with that too.)…the other Dr.Who’s, I didn’t care so much for, but the new one is pretty good…quirky….I like quirky…
Then David Tennant ( I think that’s his name), got into the Harry Potter movies, and did a great job.
I told you, I’m a freak… :) Grams
I’m just catching up with all the comments, but have seen both, as I previously said, and LIKE them both…it’s kind of like, Movies, and remakes…
I like to watch them too, just to see how they handle it, and how the casting is in all the remakes…like, The Poseiden movies. All were good with little differences on their take of the story line…Not all remakes are worth mentioning though, as you all know.
Writing, casting, and timing…

I haven’t watch the British version but I watched 2nd show on sify and it’s so boring WHY? cause nothing happenning to keep us excited since the first show it’s just a big giant feeling ball. every moment of the show it’s feelings, feelings, feelings…., rather than actions…
I love the actors and I’m sure they are capable of keeping us connected to the show but who writes the story must be at 6th grade. No imagination what so ever except FEEEELINGGGSSS….
If show goes like that, there is no way that, it can last…..
Diane, let me just say that you must give the British original series, Being Human, a try. If this is how you feel about SyFy’s take, you will have absolutely no complaints with the British series. The first season is only 6 episodes and it accomplishes more than most American shows can do in two seasons.
I agree. I am so attached to the BBC Being Human characters that I consider the American actors impostors. I cried when Anne was pulled to the other side. The British Mitchell is so hot and the American one is sooooo not! And I love British George’s accent. Thank God for the BBC America. There was absolutely no reason to redo the series, its not in a foreign language. After the disappointing ending of Battlestar Galactica, rather than taking the time to thoughtfully develop Caprica they go and rip off the BBC. The Syfy channel needs to employ a team of creative writers and come up with some new shows or turn successful books into series like True Blood and the Vampire Diaries. When the Syfy channel does their own thing they get it right like the Sanctuary, Warehouse 13 and Stargate Universe – bravo.
When I seen they were making an American version of being human my first thoughts where whats the point we already seen 2 seasons of the story so what are they going to do bring a big budget and copy the story. I guess I kinda am curious as to what kinda of story they are going to do are they following the plot of season one and just bringing better graphics to the screen or are they just taking the storyline being the characters and the living together and creating a new plot to it all.I think they should have left well alone and allowed the original series to play out for us. I think all us fans were fine with the UK show the way it is. I have a feeling that after this comes out I will only be able to watch the UK show on the web.In any case I am Canadian and I love the UK show and don’t really want to see the American version but I will watch the first one and if they are copying the plot. I won’t be watching anymore they are going to have to bring a lot of originality to get me as a fan of the show.
Frankly,.. I think they shouldn’t have made an American version, Speaking as a follower of the British version and as a true fan. US version may water it down a bit. For those who haven’t seen the British version, I suggest perhaps you should before watching the new one on SyFy to receive the original nature of this story and become acquainted with the British cast. It will have to take some time for me to get use to the new actors playing the characters.
But if you don’t wont any comparison, watch the Syfy American version.
Plz Syfy… don’t have the werewolf too computer animated during transformation!!!
I’ve seen the British version of this show (love it!) and will be interested to see how the American “re-imagining” takes shape. Will it be so similar there won’t be any point in my watching it? OR…will it impart a distinct American flavour and tone (ala True Blood) that will pull me in..
