Chloliver (Chloe + Oliver) fans, I’m sad to report that Smallville executive producer Brian Peterson has revealed that Chloe (Allison Mack) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) are parting ways. Mack will be appearing in a few episodes for this tenth and final season of the CW show, but these appearances will be to wrap up her storyline.
Peterson explains that Chloe’s absence for the remaining episodes “will be explained when she gives herself up to save Oliver.”
Oliver will not be looking to reunite with Chloe either. Peterson says:
“Hunting [for her] may not really be a good thing. [Oliver]‘s got to weigh that decision.”
Executive producer Kelly Souders adds:
“Giving up is maybe not quite the way he would look at it, but letting go might be part of his scenario.”
Smallville returns to the CW on September 24, 2010.

I’ve stuck by this damn show for the past 9 years of my life even when they threw Chloe on the back burner and gave her a crappy storyline! I want a happy ending for Chloe! God knows she deserves it and it should be with Oliver!!!! UUUGHHHH! I’m gonna go hulk!
Recycled CC spoiler again…Chlollie is not over just yet
Yup. These spoilers are from Comic-Con, almost a month old, and quotes taken completely out of context, now with added gloom and doom speculation by the writer! It’s too funny.
I fail to see any gloom/doom or anything else in her article, she stated what she felt they were trying to convey – that’s what real writers do.
Plus, anyone who hasn’t been under a rock for the last 5 years understands that the shaded area in the article is where the quotes from the producers and Hartley, she never altered their words or as you said “put words in their mouths”
so they’re not over?? Chloe’s coming back?? I really liked them as a couple, I hope it’s not over =(
These comments from Brian and Kelly are not new. And, it sounds as though the author of this article is putting their own spin on the producers’ quotes. Nowhere in their quotes does it say Chlollie is over. I wish writers would stop putting words in producers’ mouths, and stop putting their own spin/speculation/conjecture on things that are said, and simply report the FACTS.
I agree Gen plus this recycled spoiler relates to Oliver’s arc BEFORE AM is back, at which point the producers have said their relationship will evolve and deepen.
Wow, being a Smallville fan since Season One, I could never figure out why the majority of entertainment reporters (unlike the refreshing ones here who love the show) have such disdain for Smallville… I think I understand now, it’s not the show – it’s the so called “fans” that are just ruder than hell and troll stories like this.
First, since you are new to the web (apparently), the [Source] link at the bottom of the article goes to where the reporter got the information from and that source, in-turn got it from TV Guide, whose exact quotes from Peterson and Justin Hartley at Comic-Con were -
“Mack will be leaving the show this season, and Peterson said they will wrap the storyline “in a way that’s fitting for Chloe.” Her romance with Oliver will play a key role in that. “She gives herself up for him, like a trade almost,” Hartley told TVGuide.com. “He is trying to figure out who’s behind it, and he’s been told that they killed her, so he’s kind of tormented. His whole quest is to try to figure out where she is.”

and
These are NEW comments from Peterson and Sauders to TV Guide on 8/17 (just a few days before it was posted here – i.e. not recycled)
“Hunting [for her] may not really be a good thing He’s got to weigh that decision,” executive producer Brian Peterson tells us. Adds fellow EP Kelly Souders: “Giving up is maybe not quite the way he would look at it, but letting go might be part of his scenario.”

and (Duh)… with Mack leaving the show “pre-finale” and Hartley being there until the end, they will obviously part ways, thus – the ChlOliver relationship will end “pre-finale” – no spin/speculation/conjecture, or being taken out of context at all in this article.
So, do some research before you whine and complain, and get off your high horse and be respectful of others (like Clark would). The people on this site are cool, and you’re giving Smallville fans a bad name.
