Entertainment Weekly gives us our first look at Warner Bros. upcoming comic book adaptation, Green Lantern directed by Martin Campbell. The pictures from the Comic-Con preview issue of EW feature Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, Tim Robbins as Senator Hammond, Peter Sarsgaard as Dr. Hector Hammond and Angela Bassett as Dr. Amanda Waller. Green Lantern hits theaters on June 17th 2011.
I’m not that crazy about the suit actually. I don’t like that it’s all green and looks like alien muscle tissue. I get that they wanted to go for a ribbed armor look, but this looks awkward. I hope they throw some black in there for good measure.
I am relieved to see that they didn’t try and stylize the Chevron though. Thank God for that.
Love what they’ve done with the suit. The glowing green energy in the suit looks bad ass. I’m also digging Blake, she’s looking mighty fine as always. Nice nod to comic fans to have Hal in the leather jacket.
