Check out the first Iron Man 2 trailer below, which was released this evening by Paramount Pictures via Apple. It’s great to see Robert Downey Jr. back as the ever snarky and kick ass Tony Stark/Iron Man. We also get an introduction to the vengeful Russian prisoner Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), otherwise known as Whiplash. Scarlett Johansson shows up as Black Widow. Gwyneth Paltrow is back as the lovely and loyal Pepper Potts. And the most geek-gasm inducing moment belongs to Iron Man/Stark and War Machine/Rhodey fighting off what appears to be an army of robotic foes (multiple Crimson Dynamos?)

Holy crap that was awesome. War Machine looked bad ass and I noticed in that scene Tony is sporting the triangular chest piece which reminds me a bit of some of his older armors, not to mention the current extremis armor.
I totally agree Mike… I thought I was probably the only one who noticed the triangular chest piece – good to know I’m not the only one caught that!
