Last week we told you about a rumor that started floating around the intertubes that Romola Garai and Rachel McAdams had auditioned for the role of Black Cat in Spider-Man 4,and that McAdams had already met with the producers. Well according to McAdams herself, it was just a rumor.
“That’s a total rumor, I have to say, I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, ‘I just heard you’re doing Spider-Man 4.‘ And I said, ‘Really? No one told me!’ It’s not true.”
A rep for Sony Pictures concurs:
“It’s an Internet rumor, as so many things are these days.”
While she could simply be denying her attachment because she hasn’t signed a contract yet, but as I said before.. we’ll call all of it rumor until we get confirmation from the Studio or Raimi.
Now, to add fuel to the Spider-Man casting fire – we have word that another actress has been meeting with the Spidey team: Julia Stiles.
“UGO has learned that Julia Stiles has met with a casting company in New York to discuss the upcoming Spider-Man 4!”
There is no specific information on what role she was speaking with them about, but we could assume it may be for the role that everyone is talking about, Black Cat.
