Elizabeth Mitchell is confirmed to be in the last season of ABC’s “Lost”. The last we saw of Mitchell’s character Juliet Burke lead the audience to believe that she’s dead, having fallen down a deep hole in the ground, pinned by the electro-magnetic force of the nuclear bomb below, after which the said device exploded. What kinds of hints can she give us about these final episodes? Mitchell tells the press:
“I can’t [say], because they’ve decided to do a complete blackout. They’re doing no press, and they’re giving no hints and no spoilers, and they’re showing no promos. So I really can’t say anything.”
What IS confirmed is that Mitchell is shooting for “Lost” in Hawaii starting from November 14th. She will be juggling both her roles on “Lost” as well as “V” in Vancouver as she wraps her first ‘pod’ of eps on “V” early this month, sneeak in a quick movie in between, and then to Hawaii for “Lost” till late January.
Another one of “Lost”s dead charcters, Shannon Rutherford, played by Maggie Grace, is not signed to return to the show for the last season. Grace’s rep confirms “Lost”s interest, but not her involvement:
“It has not been confirmed that [Maggie] is returning [to Lost]. She has been asked, but nothing more than that.”
Then again, Grace, named among Variety’s “10 Actors To Watch”, has had a full plate with her roles in “Knight & Day” with Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise and “The Experiment” with Adrien Brody. This brings us to wonder what what the writers will do with Graces’ character’s step-brother, Boone Carlyle, is going to do since Ian Somerhalder IS signed on to appear in the last season.
Interestingly, Harold Perrineau, who played Michael Dawson, estranged father of Walt, has not been asked to return to the island. This last season gets more and more mysterious! One thing is for sure- ABC is keeping a tight lid on this last season of “Lost”!
“Lost” returns to ABC in spring of 2010.
