The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” has cast Jasmine Guy (Dead Like Me, A Different World) as the grandmother of supporting character, Bonnie. Bonnie comes from a long line of Salem witches and Bonnie’s too-cool attitude had dismissed crazy-ole Grandma’s stories about their powers and history.
It looks like “The Vampire Diaries” is about to delve into the magical world of witchcraft with this latest casting news. This news confirms the story arc that Bonnie is set on, of which we have strong hints of already.

These witches must have a spell for eternal beauty and youth if Jasmine Guy is to be Bonnie’s grandmother! Unless they do some magic of their own with hair and make-up, Jasmine Guy appears too young to be a grandmother!
